We’re wicked excited to be playing with MarchFourth when they stop by Providence at Fête. Tickets are just ten bucks, and we so want to sell you some, because this show is gonna be one you really don’t want to miss!

It’s almost here! The source festival of all the Honks across the land. ERB has been working on some cool new dance moves to show off to all our friends from all over the place. We can’t wait!

Noon: Opening ceremonies, Seven Hills Park, Davis Square.

From 1pm until 9pm there will be wild street bands from all over the country playing in seven locations throughout Davis Square. We can’t encourage you strongly enough to go to the whole festival and wander around. It’s amazing. We will be playing two sets.

•  1pm at Statue Park at the heart of Davis Square by the T Station.
• 6pm at Seven Hills Park just around the corner.

ERB played the GMDVP 7th annual Winter Plunge. It was a great event and they raised a bunch of dough to help keep people safe. Way to go folks! [...]]]> Hey it’s 20°, who want’s to go swimming? OK, so who want’s to go swimming while playing trumpet? That’s right Mike, we’re asking you.

I don’t think Mike missed a beat during that submersion. Off camera he was joined by Ben, Josh, & Tony, and was that you too Matt? I know a bunch more folks in the band are already planning on bringing a change of cloths so they can join in too next year!

They posted a ERB was playing a gig next door to the Providence Children’s Museum and someone asked us to come over and pay them a visit. Mobility is one of the number one advantages of a marching band, OK number two. Number one is the sheer fun of it all!

They posted a video of us playing on their facebook page. Go check it out, make friends with the museum, and better yet pay a visit, it’s a blast! We kept getting distracted by all the neat things to explore throughout the place.

A grown up marching band geek adults jamming out [...]]]> We partied with the local Yelpers at the Salon last week. When you play a party with a bunch of folks who review stuff locally you’ve got to wonder what will be written afterwards… the reviews are trickling in and ERB was a hit!

A grown up marching band geek adults jamming out on their instruments to Smooth Criminal? AMAZING. I loved sitting on the picnic table under the standing trombonist rocking out! They were the perfect entertainment and so energetic — made me pine for my old high school band days ;-)

Oh I know! You could hire us to serenade your sweetheart. I’ve heard this makes one hellava Valentines day gift. Chocolates are sweet, roses are lovely, but launching a marching band at the object of your desire, that’s something you don’t recover from once the box is empty.

This is the second anniversary for Providence [...]]]>

Hoochie whatcha? This one’s a bit different. ERB will be doing the show and tell thing. Twenty images, twenty seconds, twenty band members, or a least somewhere around twenty, we never really know how big or small the band is until the show starts…

There’s a new Honk! in town, that town being Austin, Texas, and the Extraordinary Rendition Band is gonna be there. The folks at Honk!Tx are doing an amazing thing birthing another great Honk! Come on down with us, or if you’re already in the southwesterly region of the country come on by.

In order to raise some funds to help our 20+ members shake their red, white, and shiny Providence pride all over the Austin streets, we are holding a cowboy, and girl, themed fundraiser party at the brand new Salon. That’s right folks not only will you hear performances by the ERB, but you will also enjoy cowboy karaoke, line dancing, tasty baked goods, human bull rides (but remember you’ve got to rope ‘em before you can ride ‘em) and more! So much more in fact! For each donation will get you a raffle ticket that puts you in the running to win the ERB for an event of your choice!

So come out in your finest western garb, don your chaps, and shake your fringe with the ERB at the saloon! Err…Salon.

On Sunday, February 20th a crowd of diverse individuals will face freezing temperatures and plunge into the icy cold waters of Boston Harbor for a great cause; to raise funds for GMDVP and to raise [...]]]>

ERB will be shore side at the  Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project 7th Annual Winter Plunge!

On Sunday, February 20th a crowd of diverse individuals will face freezing temperatures and plunge into the icy cold waters of Boston Harbor for a great cause; to raise funds for GMDVP and to raise awareness of the reality of domestic violence in the gay, bisexual and transgender (GBT) communities.

Continuing with tradition, most plungers will dress in fun costumes, ranging from drag queens to penguins to Elvis Presley. For more information and to sign up to plunge or just come as a spectator, please click here.

Providence Community Acupuncture is having a party to celebrate the grand opening of their new space.  We are gonna be tooting our horns to welcome them on Friday, February 18th from 3 to 6 p.m. and you’re invited!

Bring a friend and come enjoy free acupuncture, live music, food, fun, and community building at the new location.
They’ll be kicking off a month long food drive for the RI Community Food Bank, and the week following the party they will be donating 5% of thier proceeds to RICFB as well. There will be a volunteer from RICFB at the party if you want to learn more about the great work they do.
